Romans 6,7

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places."  Ephesians 1:3, RSV

"For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ"  I Thessalonians 5:9, RSV

"And there is salvation in no One else, for their is no other name under heaven give among men by which we must be saved."  Acts 4:12, RSV

"He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."  Colossians 1:13-14, RSV

Think about it: In Christ we have forgiveness of sins. In Christ we have salvation. In fact, in Christ we have all spiritual blessings. So, if forgiveness, salvation and all spiritual blessings are found "in Christ" then the logical question we must ask ourselves is this: "How do I get into Christ?" The Bible has the answer to that to:

"For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."             Galatians 3:26-27, RSV

"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life."  Romans 6:3-4, RSV

Do you see? The way to get into Christ is by being baptized "into Christ" and it has to be done through faith (in other words, you have to be old enough to believe in Him). Further, those who are baptized into Christ will one day take part in the resurrection of Christ, because we are raised to walk a newness of life. That fits beautifully with Christ's teaching in John 3 revealing that we must be born again - or, in other words, the "newness of life."

When you combine this with the teachings of the last few days on grace, faith, and repentance, you begin to see how all of these things are woven together by God in His plan of salvation.

Isn't God good!
