Luke 5-7

"And behold, men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought to bring him in and lay him before Jesus; but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus."  Luke 5:18-19, RSV

I love this passage! It shows the lengths to which friends will go to bring those they love to Jesus.

Just imagine going to a doctor's office with a friend who is deathly ill, only to find that his waiting room is full. So your solution is to tear a hole in his ceiling so that you can lower your friend to see that doctor. Now, that's urgency! It's also love for a friend that prompts you to go to any lengths to make sure that he can get to the only one who can help.

Jesus is the only one who can help with our spiritual infirmities! The question is do we see the urgency? Or, are those we love even worth the effort to us? If so, we need to bring them to Jesus, because only He can heal us from our sins.

"And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." Acts 4:12, RSV
