1 Cor. 9- 2 Cor. 1

"Oh, how I love thy law! It is my meditation all day."

Psalms 119:97, RSV

For those of you who have taken up this Thirty Day Bible Challenge, I ask you to consider for a moment the magnitude of what you are doing: You are beginning a lifetime of study for the Lord!

"Now hold on there", you might be thinking, "I never signed on for a lifetime of study - I just accepted a challenge to read through the New Testament in thirty days! No big deal... right?"

But that type of thinking is wrong, because once a person has read the words of God, he is never the same again. Jesus said, "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." We know that this is true, because Jesus said it, but as we read through the Word of God we are also realizing that the only source capable of satisfying a hunger and thirst for God's Word, is God's Word!

And you have started...

And you will never be the same!

Aren't you glad?

Do not despise humble beginnings! My wife has told me this for years, and she is right!

"Thy commandment make me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, for I keep thy precepts. I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep thy word. I do not turn aside from thy ordinances, for thou hast taught me. How sweet are thy words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth."

Psalms 119:98-103, RSV
