Romans 7-15

"You cannot by any chance fail if you persevere."

Arnold Bennett

The other day a dear sweet woman posted the 30 Day Bible Challenge on her facebook page with the question, "Can I do this?" That vital question is at the heart of our service to God! Jesus said that if a man would follow Him, he must count the costs, and that certainly has been one of the great keys in man's service to God throughout the ages. So, can you do this?

Arnold Bennett wrote a short book at the turn of the twentieth century entitled, "How to Live on 24 Hours a Day". In that book he pointed out the attempts people make for affording things they really want to do on a very small budget - things like, how to travel Europe for $5 a day. Mr. Bennett thought the idea was so good that he decided to show people how to live within the budget constraints of a 24 hour day. In doing so, he showed how we really have all the time we need to accomplish the things that we truly want to do, if we will just consciously stop wasting time and start living intentionally rather than randomly.

Now you might think that this is tyranny - that you will not live under the cruel taskmaster of the clock, but we are not talking about enslaving ourselves to time, we are talking about freeing ourselves from the clock in order to do the things we really want and need to do.

And, we really need to read the Word of God... every day! The question is, do we want to? We can do this!

"I can do all things in Him who strengthens me."

Philippians 4:13, RSV

"I long for thy salvation, O LORD, and Thy law is my delight."

Psalms 119:174, RSV

Today is day 17 of the Thirty Day Bible Challenge. The reading today is from the 7th through the 15th chapters of Romans. May God richly bless you in your pursuit of His will!
